 'Relationship' evangelism
How does 'Relationship' or 'Lifestyle' evangelism work for you? Do you find developing meaningful relationships helps you to share the Gospel?

Absolutely! I feel that by building a friendship and by being transparent with a person is vital - this builds trust. My experience is that being authentic and even talking about weakness is the key. People need to know they are valued, loved by God and not targets or projects.

 Re: 'Relationship' evangelism
Yes I agree and one of the attractive characteristics of Jesus is that He always recognised people. I think people in the West are particularly poor at friendship because we live in a success orientated society where little value is placed upon human worth and our sense of community is strangled by independence. But the great news is whether we're from the East or the West the Holy Spirit is internationally friendly so we can't lose! Evangelism must be relational and that relational nature will overflow from us when we're immersed in Christ, transformed and conformed. We've been doing lots of door knocking in the area where one of my churches is and we've been giving away gifts to demonstrate grace. It's been a big hit and all based in relationships - we've had two new families join us Making friends -what could be easier!

 Re: 'Relationship' evangelism
if anyone has any advice, i have been witnessing online to Muslim friends from other countries such as Egypt, Pakistan and Lebanon. Some of these are known as "restricted" nations, so i want to get the truth across and do whatever it takes but i also dont want to endanger my friends unnecessarily, as their families are Muslim. i am currently trying to learn more arabic language and culture so i can better relate to them. any tips on how i can love them without making them feel like a "project"???

I think the best way to witness to people is just to be real with them. People desire genuineness and can see through fake, not that are being fake! I think if you just be 'friends' with them and don't look at them as a project but as people that Jesus loves and desires to free from sin then there is no real agenda on your end or pressure, you just have a desire to share what you have discovered.
